IndiaNewsonWeb: 14 Mar, 2017, According to Dr. B. R Ambedkar- Powers, the Prime Minister of India can be compared to the President of the United States.

Since the appointment of Shri Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister, the definition of efficient leadership has taken a new shape. In the context of domestic powers, the Prime Minister of India is as powerful as the President of the United States, but the situation is slightly different at international level. Whether it is to close the Indian currency or to carry out the final decision in many cases, such as surgical strikes, foreign policy, nuclear command etc., the implementation of the supreme powers is done by the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister influences every aspect of the lives of Indian citizens. The Prime Minister has immense powers to which the common citizen is unfamiliar. We are here to tell about some very important powers of Prime Minister of India ie Shri Narendra Modi.

The Constitution has given the government a parliamentary form, in which there is a federal structure with some unitary facilities. In Article 74 (1), it has been said that there will be a Council of Ministers to assist and advise the President, whose head will be the Prime Minister, and the President will carry out his actions according to the advice of this Council of Ministers. Thus, the actual executive power is contained in the Council of Ministers, whose chief is the Prime Minister.

Powers and Functions

The Prime Minister is the Chief Executive of the country and he works as the head of the Central Government. That is why Jawaharlal Nehru said about the Prime Minister, 'It is the lynch-pin of the government.' The description of the functions and powers of the Prime Minister is as follows:

Head of Government

Although the President is the head of the country, but is the head of the Prime Minister's Government. All decisions on the advice of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers are taken on the name of the President but only after the help and advice of the Prime Minister, the information given to the President. Even the President appoints ministers after recommending appointments of other ministers. The Prime Minister takes all the important decisions or approves them indirectly.

The Leader of the Cabinet

Like the British Prime Minister, he is not only primus Inter parace (leader of a group), but according to Sir Iwer Jennings, it is a Sun around which other ministers continue to act as planets. The Prime Minister is the one who recommends the President about his appointment and the distribution and shuffling of various departments between the Ministers. The Prime Minister presides over the Council of Ministers and affects their decision. He can ask any minister to resign or recommend the removal of minister from the president. Therefore, in the event of death or resignation of the Prime Minister, the entire Council of Ministers is dissolved.

Real Head of Army

Although the Chief of the Defense Forces is the President of India, but the real power lies in the hands of the Prime Minister. The National Security Council decides on all important issues related to the country's defense and security. On the important issues related to national defense and security, this Security Council advises the Prime Minister of India.

National Security Advisor is the President of the National Security Council. The National Security Advisor is appointed by the Prime Minister of India. The Security Committee presents its recommendations to the Prime Minister on whom the Prime Minister decides. Recently, surgical strikes are a vivid example of this, where the Prime Minister approved this surgical strike and the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Army Chief briefed the Prime Minister about the moment of this surgical strike.

Command of Atomic Power

India is a nuclear power and we have a discount in the NSG without signing the ATPT. Nuclear Command Authority is the main body for nuclear weapons in India. It oversees all important matters related to India's nuclear weapons program. The President of this Authority is the Prime Minister of India.

India's nuclear weapons program is based on two parts. Nuclear attack can be initiated only after the order of the Nuclear Command Authority. The basic idea is that the command of nuclear weapons remains in the hands of the elected government whose head is the prime minister.

Head of Economic Affairs

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs is the highest decision-making committee on economic affairs of the country. This committee is one of India's most important committees. The Prime Minister acts as the chairman of this committee. This committee is the deciding committee to take financial decisions for the country. This committee also takes decisions related to railways, roads and other infrastructure. This committee also takes decisions related to foreign investment in the country. The decisions of this committee were the economic status of the country and the power to change the landscape.

We can see that recently the announcement of the closure of 500 and 1000 notes by the Prime Minister, black business as well as the game of black money changed completely or that it has broken the back of the black market..

Foreign policy

There is a glimpse of Prime Minister's personality in India's foreign policy. As the prime minister changes, foreign policy keeps changing as well as developing. Apart from leaving some fundamental pillars of our foreign policy, there has always been a change in the foreign policy based on priorities.

Various contingencies related to Indians working abroad arise. It is the prime minister who initiates to save his citizens living in other countries. Operation Crisis Redemption, Operation Relief, Operation Sukun, Operation Safe Home Cumming and others are examples of this. The Government of India, in 1990, made the return of its citizens from the highest number of foreign nationals through civil aviation and this was recorded in Guinness Book.

Chairman of the Policy Commission

The policy commission is the brainchild of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This institution is a big institution compared to the Planning Commission. It ensures participation of states in deciding country's policies and confirms the value of cooperative federalism. Prime Minister is the Chairman of the Policy Commission. He works as a coordinator, guardian and mediator to maintain a best policy framework among all the states.

Head of Different Departments

The Prime Minister's Office serves as the residual testator of the Central Government. It handles all the subjects whose portfolio is not allocated to any department or ministry. Department of Atomic Energy, Department of Space directly live under the control of the Prime Minister. Indirectly, the Prime Minister is the head of nuclear power and space agencies.

Leader of parliament

As a leader, he determines the dates of his meetings and sessions programs. The Prime Minister only decided when to dissolve the house. As a keynote speaker, he announces government policies and then answers the questions.

Chief Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs

In the international conferences, the Prime Minister is the person who represents the country. He also represents the country in dealing with non-coalition countries and conventions.

Chairman of various Commissions

As a Prime Minister, he is the Chairman of the Policy Commission, National Development Council, National Integration Council, Interstate Council, National Water Resources Council.

He is the manager of the crisis at the political level during the Emergency. He is the head of the party and political services. The Prime Minister is the only person who can completely change the circumstances of the country. This is a live example of current Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement.
