Election Commision Announced Schedule for Election in Tripura, Nagaland & Meghalaya, Results on March 3

IndiaNewsonWeb: 18 Jan, 2018, The Election Commission announced dates for the forthcoming assembly elections in three states of Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland. Chief Election Commissioner AK Jyoti said in a press conference on Thursday that the three states will be in two phases. The Tripura election will be held on February 18 for the first phase. In the second phase, voting will be held in Meghalaya and Nagaland on February 27. The results of the three states will come on March 3.

Chief Election Commissioner AK Jyoti said that in these elections, VVPAT will be used fully with EVM and candidates can also check EVM. The code of conduct will be applicable from all three states today. Videography of all political programs will be done. He said that CCTV cameras will also be installed on the border checkpost.

Significantly, these three states have 60-60 Assembly seats. The Legislative Assembly of these three states is ending in March. Challenges for the West is crucial for the BJP, for a decade of independence, the Congress has become very dominant in the North-Eastern states. After this, the Left and the State Party strengthened their hold in these states.

The Naga People's Front government is in Nagaland. This government is supported by the BJP. There is a Congress government in Meghalaya and the Left Front led by CPI (M) in Tripura has been in power since 1993.

Results come on 28th February 2013

All parties started work on strategy
