IndiaNewsonWeb: 15 Jun, 2017, Prior to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit, India has given a blow to America. The Ministry of Defense has canceled the deal to purchase 16 helicopters from the US. The Ministry of Defense has taken this decision after not talking about the price of the helicopter. To buy 16 helicopters for the Indian Navy, the US aviation manufacturer Sikorsky aircraft had a deal worth Rs 6,500 crore.

Now the Ministry of Defense has decided to promote 'Make in India' in the military sector so that imports in the defense sector can be reduced. The decision of the Ministry of Defense came just two weeks before PM Modi's visit to the US. It is known that Modi is leaving for the United States on June 25, where he will meet US President Donald Trump.

Due to lack of budget for modernization of the army, the Ministry of Defense has to negotiate to reduce the cost of military equipment and aircraft. Defense Ministry sources told Mail Today that the deal to buy 16 helicopters has been canceled. He told that the deal was about to hang on the helicopter price for the last two years. India has taken this decision after the US aviation manufacturer Sikorsky refused to extend the deal on behalf of Sikorsky.
