IndiaNewsonWeb: 23 Jan, 2018, Addressing the public meeting AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi on the issue of 'Padmavat' film said, the government had to constitute a committee after Rajputs Protest in opposition of Padmavat. After the committee's recommendations, the name of the movie was transferred and many scenes were removed. Rajputs population in the country's population is only 4 percent. It is their strength that the government had to bow in front of their demands. In comparison, Muslims constitute 14 percent of the population, but they are helpless. The government is making laws on triple talaq arbitrarily while ignoring them. No committee was formed to listen to the side of Muslims in this case.

Owaisi said that by saying the rights of Muslim women, the triple talaq bills have been brought, it is just an excuse. The real target is Sharia. At the same time, he also talked about budgetary provision of 15 thousand rupees per month for the passing of women suffering from triple talaq. According to Owaisi, the government should ensure that in the budget, the women who have been given triple talaq, they get 15 thousand rupees every month for livelihood. Taking a dig at PM Modi, he said that if not 15 lakhs, then give 15 thousand only to two friends. It is notable that the triple talaq bills have been passed in the Lok Sabha during the last winter session but could not be passed in the Rajya Sabha.

Opposition to 'Padmavat'

Describing Bollywood's controversial film "Padmavat" as a nonsense, AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi had told the Muslims youth not to waste time on seeing it. Owaisi, a member of Lok Sabha from Hyderabad, was addressing a public meeting in Warangal district on Wednesday, saying, "Do not go to the film. God has not made you to watch two-hour movies. "

He said, "Narendra Modi (Prime Minister) constituted a committee of 12 members for that film ... (But) No one has consulted us while making laws against us (to end triple talaq)." Owaisi said, "The film is very bad and nonsense..The Muslim community should learn from Rajputs who are united to not allow the film to be released."

Raising questions on eliminating Haj subsidy

Owaisi targeted the government's decision to end the Haj subsidy even last week. Attacking the BJP for appeasing Muslims and calling them vote bank, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi had said that the party government in Uttar Pradesh has given money for pilgrimage and wants to know if it can be closed. Owaisi claimed that funds are also given for Kumbh Mela, whereas the Congress government of Karnataka gives grants for Chardham Yatra. He said that long ago he himself had demanded to end the Haj subsidy.

Owaisi tweeted, "Haj subsidy is 200 crores this year and according to the Supreme Court order, it should have ended by 2022. Since 2006, I have been demanding that this should be abolished and this amount should be used for the education of Muslim girls. "
