Shri Najeeb Jung currently serve as 20th Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. Previously he served to Indian Administrative Service at Madhya Pradesh in 1973. And also served as 13th Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia University Delhi.
Personal Life & Education:-
Najeeb Jung was born on 18th January 1951 at Delhi. His Father was a business man and mother was home maker. They are actual resident of Hyderabad shifted to Delhi.
He completed his basic education at St. Columbia’s   School Delhi and his graduation completed from St. Stephen’s College Delhi.
He completed his M.A. in History form University of Delhi. After that He completed M.A. in Social Policy and Planning in Developing Countries at London School of Economics, U.K. He Contribute regularly by columns in National and International Newspaper publication.
  • Najeeb Jung began his career to join Indian Administrative Service in 1973 at Madhya Pradesh cadre.
  • In 1994, Jung became Joint Secretary to Government of India in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
  • He hold this position up to 1995.
  • After that He worked at Asian Development Bank as a Senior Energy Specialist and Principal Energy Specialist.
  • He served as senior visiting fellow at Oxford Institute for Energy studies, Oxford University between 1999 to 2002.
  • In 2002 he became in charge of Restructuring the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resource in Afghanistan.
  • He worked as a member of several committee like Chairman of Vice Chancellor Core Committee by Ministry of Human resource development, member of special task force by Ministry of Home affairs and member of senate of Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
  • Jung served as Vice Chancellor of jamia Millia Islamia from 2009 to 2013.
  • In 2013, He appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.
